Rugby League news: Reaction to death of Hull KR great, Lee Radford on FC trialist, latest on Rob Burrow fundraising
Radford discusses Myers’ progress
Lee Radford says trialist Eldon Myers will feature heavily in Hull FC’s friendly games next month.
Myers has been training with FC on a full-time basis since the start of pre-season after catching Radford’s eye while playing rugby union for the Royal Navy earlier this year.
The centre didn’t have a lot of rugby league experience prior to linking up with Hull, but he played 40 minutes against York City Knights in a behind closed doors friendly on Saturday morning.
The Black and Whites will play a number of friendlies next month as they dial up their preparations for the new season, with Halifax and Batley Bulldogs the only opponents announced so far, but Radford says Myers will be given the chance to impress.
“He’s been really good,” Radford told Hull Live. “I’m looking forward to seeing him play in the friendlies and he’ll get plenty of opportunity but he’s been great since he came through the door.
